This is a moment from my childhood that changed everything I thought I knew about life, safety, and family.

There was a day when everything in my life changed.
I didnโ€™t fully understand what was happening, but I felt it.

One summer evening, I was playing outside when an SUV stopped in front of our house.
Four men got out and rushed inside.

I followed them.

They had guns. They were searching everywhere.

My father was on his prayer rug, preparing to pray.
My mother, my grandmother, and my younger sister stood together in one corner, terrified.

I was watchingโ€ฆ confused.

I looked at my father.
He was calm.
I didnโ€™t understand how he could be calm.

I looked at the men searching our house, but I didnโ€™t understand what they were looking for.

It seemed they didnโ€™t find what they were looking for.
Then they went to my fatherโ€™s personal library.

They started checking every book.
One by one.

They selected some books to take with them as evidence.

Can you imagine?
A book could be evidence against you.
A book could cost you your life.

Then they asked my father to go with them for a โ€œfive-minuteโ€ questioning.

My mother and grandmother were crying as they took himโ€ฆ
as if they already knew it wouldnโ€™t be five minutes.

Five minutes turned into four years.

I didnโ€™t know how to react to all of this.

I looked into his eyesโ€ฆ
as if I was saying goodbye.

I didnโ€™t know what I was supposed to do.

Should I cry like the rest of my family?
Should I try to defend him?
Should I stop them from taking him away?

He was gone.

For the first time, our home felt heavyโ€ฆ and sad.
Nothing was the same after that moment.

My grandmother cried constantly.
My mother carried a deep, silent sorrow.

I lost my best friendโ€ฆ
And I didnโ€™t know what to do anymore.

That day, I didnโ€™t just lose my father.
I lost the feeling of being a child.

This was the moment everything changed.

But I didnโ€™t understand what it truly meantโ€ฆ until life forced me to.

What happened next changed me completely.
